Andy
has had a distinguished career as teacher, administrator, researcher,
and presenter. After teaching at the International School of
Brussels and the United Nations International School in New
York, he became Principal and then Superintendent of the Henry
Viscardi School Andy became serving children with physical disabilities
and health problems. He organized staff development programs,
created new curriculum, and increased achievement thereby providing
the students with increased academic and career opportunities.
After ten years at the Henry Viscardi School, he became the
Principal of Morley School in West Hartford, Connecticut, where
again he implemented site-based programs that resulted in improvements
in every area of the curriculum.
Andy has his Doctorate in administration from New York University,
a Masters Degree in Special Education from the University at
Chapel Hill in North Carolina, and a Bachelor of Science in
Communication from Northwestern University. Since 1999, Andy
has been a full-time consultant for schools across the United
States offering services in leadership, literacy, and content
area learning. He is the author of numerous articles and the
co-author of Write for Mathematics

Evelyn
has been an Educational Consultant for over thirty years. She
is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University where
she specialized in Reading and Psycholinguistics. She began
her career as a classroom teacher in New York City and then
as a reading teacher in Nyack, NY. When New York State implemented
the fifth grade writing competency tests, Evelyn began to build
a set of highly successful strategies making writing the central
unifier of the curriculum.
Her program, Writing As Learning, is now nationwide,
raising writing scores and providing students with a lifetime
skill of communication. Evelyn is the author of many books and
articles, including Writing As Learning

and the co-author with Andy of Write for Mathematics.
Evelyn and Andy are currently working on their next publication
